Current Foreign Policy Challenges Facing Europe and the U.S.

The Pittsburgh Eric M. Warburg Chapter of the American Council on Germany is hosting a luncheon and discussion with Hans-Ulrich Klose, Member of the Bundestag (SPD) and Chairman of the German-American Parliamentary Group. Klose will be speaking on the Current foreign policy challenges facing Europe and the U.S focusing on the areas of Afghanistan, Iran and Russia.

Hans-Ulrich Klose has been serving as Chairman of the German-American Parliamentary Group since January 2003 and as Vice Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the German Bundestag since October 2002. His previous positions include Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the German Bundestag, Vice President of the German Bundestag, Chairman of the SPD parliamentary group in the Bundestag, and Treasurer of the Social Democratic Party of Germany. A former Governing Mayor of the City of Hamburg, Klose was first elected to the Bundestag in 1983.

Mix Your Business with Your Artistic Pleasure

The Greater Pittsburgh Arts Council’s Business Volunteers for the Arts® strengthens the management of emerging and small non-profit arts and cultural organizations by placing business professionals as volunteer management consultants — with arts managers and their boards, on projects in financial and strategic planning, marketing, information technology and more. The Arts Council is looking for the best and brightest business professionals with a passion for arts and culture and a desire to volunteer their time to area non-profits.

BVA training takes place twice a year, with the next training session on November 15, 2008. This half-day orientation introduces you to the program, to arts leaders and to other BVAs.
