Here’s some great news from a Council member company make a bunch of key hires. Check it out:

Again expanding its staff to handle an increasing volume of business, B Three Solutions, Inc., recently hired two promising IT professionals. James Carr and James Gilmore are now contributing their talents to a B Three team that averages more than 15 years of IT experience per person.

After interning with B Three Solutions during the summer of 2008, James Carr has been hired as a Systems Analyst. He has just graduated from Pittsburgh Technical Institute with an Associate’s Degree in Computer Science. An honor student at PTI, he executed computer projects in the fields of biology and cryptography, and played an active roll in the school’s tutoring program.

James Gilmore has been hired as a Programmer, after spending the summer as an intern. He is working for B Three Solutions while carrying a full course load at the University of Pittsburgh, where he is now in his senior year as a Computer Science major. Before joining B Three, Gilmore worked as the general manager of a retail business.

As soon as they joined B Three Solutions, both men became part of a project team working on a major software contract for the City of Pittsburgh’s Bureau of Building Inspection (BBI). The new Code Enforcement application enables a BBI inspector, working in the field with a handheld computer, to receive an enforcement assignment (often based on a citizen complaint received a few seconds earlier), and then file a report – complete and enforcement-ready – from the field after carrying out the inspection.”

On September 17, Mayor Luke Ravenstahl demonstrated the new system at a media event in Bloomfield. According to the City’s press release, the new application “will cut the time it takes for inspectors to process code enforcement violations from four days to one.” For more information on the BBI project, visit B Three Solutions. Gilmore and Carr will be working with other team members at the headquarters of B Three Solutions in Plum Borough, and at customer sites throughout the Pittsburgh area.
