Seems sort of weird to blog about blogging. Might be illegal in some states, but I think I’m in the clear here in good old Pennsylvania. Just got word that two Pittsburgh Technology Council member companies just unleashed their own blogs. We’ll have to link up the ‘Burgher ASAP to these upstarts.

Summa created its new blog as another avenue to share its experiences and expertise. According to CEO Audrey Dunning:
“Our blog will provide insight, tips and lessons learned on themes including software development, architecture and design, and process and governance. It will highlight Summa’s unique expertise in providing solutions to business problems that are available only through the disciplined use of technology.
“In an ever evolving industry, we want to provide a resource for an open and honest discussion of industry innovations, challenges and successes. We encourage you to join this discussion and exchange.”

IQ Inc. a technical consulting and software development company located in Murrysville, launched its first blog, Cocktail Thursday. The goal of Cocktail Thursday is to encourage and facilitate communal discussions between individuals and business professionals, while providing relevant information and sharing entrepreneurial experiences. According to IQ’s Barbara VanKirk:
“I feel there is a real need to connect with the multigenerational work force that we find ourselves working in today. I believe blogs are a great way to bridge the gap and initiate conversations. Cocktail Thursday is also an opportunity for individuals to network with business professionals and share their experiences; whether it is information about starting their own business or obtaining career advice for the next step in their career.”
