A Little Innovation Inspiration

Happy Monday everyone. Feeling pretty chipper despite staring down the barrel of another work week. The weeks are rolling by so fast at the Tech Council that I’ve wondered if we’ve actually put a ding in the time-space continuum.

For sure, the word “innovation” has become a bit passe, but it really should be in the font of all of our minds. I propose a contest to create a new word for “innovation” and while you’re at it, think of a new word for “networking,” too.

But I digress. This past weekend, Pittsburgh Technology Council CEO Audrey Russo came across a rather interesting blog from Mass High Tech: The Journal of New England Technology. Saul Kaplan, former executive director of the Rhode Island Economic Development Corp., has some important ideas on the importance of innovation and how economic down times are ripe for innovation. This is a must read.

Oh yeah, send your “new word” submissions. We’ll make ya famous for 15 minutes.
