European Automotive Simulation Conference to Drive Next-Generation Vehicle Design

ANSYS, Inc., a global innovator of simulation software and technologies designed to optimize product development processes,  announced the preliminary agenda for the 2009 European Automotive Simulation Conference (EASC), an engineering simulation event dedicated solely to this industry. Because the challenges in engineering road, rail, racetrack and off-road vehicles are complex, the event provides a forum for attendees to share and debate new practices and issues, to network with industry peers and to learn about the very latest developments in engineering simulation for the automotive industry. The EASC’s focus on integrating multiphysics simulation into the design process is expected to impact the next generation of automotive engineering, resulting in innovative products that can be made faster, more cost effectively, and with less impact on the environment.

Concurrent Technologies Corporation Awarded 3-Year, $11 Million Contract

Concurrent Technologies Corporation (CTC) has been awarded an $11 million Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract by the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Panama City, Florida, to provide technical and engineering services for continued Carriage, Stream, Tow, and Recovery System (CSTRS) development, test, and analysis.  CSTRS was designed and fabricated by CTC and functions as the primary interface between the Navy’s MH-60S helicopter and five different mine countermeasure sensor systems.  CTC has served as the prime contractor on the U.S. Navy Organic Airborne Mine Countermeasures (OAMCM) CSTRS Program since 1999.  Under the new contract, work will be performed at CTC’s offices in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, and Panama City, Florida, and is expected to be completed by February 2012.

Fox Racing Uses Vocollect Voice to Double Distribution Productivity
Vocollect, Inc., the world leader in voice solutions for mobile workers, and Fox Racing Inc., a leading apparel manufacturer and distributor for motocross, BMX, wakeboarding, surfing, and mountain biking headquartered in Morgan Hill, Calif., announced today that their recent deployment of HighJump Warehouse Advantage for warehouse management and Vocollect Voice has enabled Fox Racing to double its distribution center productivity, and that it has achieved its projected return on investment in half the expected timeframe. Mylan’s Matrix Receives First Tentative FDA Approval Under PEPFAR for Generic Truvada
Mylan Inc. announced that Matrix Laboratories Limited, its India-based subsidiary in which it holds a 71.2% controlling interest, has received the first tentative approval from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) under the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) for its Abbreviated New Drug Application (ANDA) for Emtricitabine and Tenofovir Disoproxil Fumarate Tablets, 200 mg/300 mg.
