LANXESS Corporation’s second-quarter global sales (adjusted for portfolio changes and currency effects) were on par with quarter one earnings for 2009. With over 3,000 chemical formulations, LANXESS’s product diversity has proven to be an asset in the current global economy.
On September 24 and 25, world leaders from more than 20 countries will come to Pittsburgh for the next G-20 Summit. Pittsburgh was chosen due to its “commitment to employing new and green technology to further economic recovery and development.”
LANXESS Corporation will host international media and other delegates during the week of the Summit. Additionally, the Andy Warhol Museum has been chosen by First Lady Michelle Obama for a luncheon she will be hosting. “As the Chairman of the Warhol Museum Board, I am so excited that we will get to share the museum with the First Lady. It’s a huge honor,” said LANXESS President and CEO Randy Dearth.
This year marks the 100th anniversary of the patenting of synthetic rubber. As the heir to the synthetic rubber patent, LANXESS is celebrating by hosting a Science Colloquium in Leverkusen, Germany in September. A larger endeavor to celebrate the innovation of synthetic rubber is the commissioning of a piece of artwork that will be exhibited at the Andy Warhol Museum and unveiled during a Rubber Expo Customer Event in October in Pittsburgh.
