It doesn’t get any fresher off the grill than this. The folks at ShowClix leaked the announcement of their series A funding to the Techburgher yesterday afternoon for your enjoyment first thing this morning. ShowClix, a Pittsburgh-based event ticketing company, secured an undisclosed sum of Series A funding from Pittsburgh Equity Partners (PEP). The funds will be used to make several key hires, strengthen the company’s sales and marketing efforts and expand customer support to meet the fast-growing demand for its ticketing services.
“While the funding provided by Pittsburgh Equity Partners will play a key role in helping us accelerate and support growth, the knowledge and experience that its Managing Partners, Steve Robinson and Ed Engler, bring to the table are equally as valuable,” said ShowClix President Joshua Dziabiak. “We’re excited and honored to be the first portfolio company of a very exciting fund.”
Pittsburgh Equity Partners is a venture capital fund, focused on high-growth, early stage information technology and life sciences companies in Southwestern Pennsylvania. Ed Engler, Managing Partner of Pittsburgh Equity Partners said, “We are very excited to be working with ShowClix. The company has proven that their solution works well across a number of large market segments and can scale dramatically over the next few years.”
Prior to receiving financing from Pittsburgh Equity Partners, ShowClix received several rounds of funding from Innovation Works, one of the nation’s most active investors in seed-stage technology companies.
