Sima Products’ Ilana Diamond to Speak at PghTech Women’s Leadership Breakfast

If you’re a woman working in Pittsburgh’s tech scene, you can’t miss Ilana Diamond’s presentation at the PghTech Women’s Network Leadership Breakfast on Friday, June 12. Diamond is at the helm of Sima Products, which is celebrating 32 years as an innovator of consumer electronics. Sima manufactures accessories for a variety of markets including Photography, Video, Home Theater, Power and Home Safety.

Today, nearly 100 Sima products are sold in more than 20 countries worldwide.  Diamond will showcase the keys on how to get consumer products into major retail chains and how to bring your product to market. Diamond will also highlight how she got to where she is today, her thoughts on leadership, the effects of technology in her life and in general, her approach to becoming a successful business woman in the technology field.

Diamond was recently profiled in the May issue of TEQ as one of the magazine’s “Women in Technology.”

Tech Council Launches PghTech Women Network

Last night the Pittsburgh Technology Council held a launched its newest network, PghTech Women. We were delighted to be joined by nearly 100 female technology professionals at the Red Ring Restaurant on Forbes Avenue for an evening of collaboration, idea generation and connectivity.  Audrey Russo, President and CEO of the Council, kicked off the event and asked the group to share their energy and insights. Jordan Lloyd Bookey, Programs Manager, Global Diversity & Talent Inclusion for Google also spoke to the group and shared Google’s commitment and vision for the new network. PghTech Women was conceptualized by female thought leaders around the region with the vision for it to be a recognized leader in providing quality informational and networking opportunities to women in southwestern Pennsylvania’s technology sector. EWC Announces Fall Inaugural Event

Join the Executive Women’s Council (EWC) on Monday, September 22 as they inaugurate the new EWC fall program schedule with lunch and a panel discussion on the subject of Women in Leadership. This program will feature a trio of top professional women from the Pittsburgh community. Each of them holds a powerful leadership position in a large, complex and successful organization.

In addition to discussing what it takes to master the organizational challenges they face every day, these three women leaders will probe the top leadership competencies they must test as they work with their staffs and constituencies to advance their organizational visions.

The panelists are:

  • Audrey Russo, President and CEO, Pittsburgh Technology Council
  • Honorable Joy Flowers Conti, Federal District Judge, Western District of Pennsylvania
  • Patricia Waldinger, CEO, American Red Cross Southwestern Pennsylvania

The moderator is Yvonne Campos, longtime EWC member as well as the founder and president of Campos, Inc., one of the region’s premier marketing research organizations.

Come prepared to learn, contribute your own insights, and ask provocative questions of these three notable women leaders.

PghTech Women Network to be Formed

The Pittsburgh Technology Council, in coordination with other regional partners will be forming the PghTech Women Network later this fall. A launch is planned for October 29 at Red Ring Restaurant on the campus of Duquesne University.

We need to hear your thoughts. Share your ideas with us in the comments section. What would you like to see this network accomplish? What events could this network coordinate? How can we help spread the word?
